Girl's Day! January 7, 2012

The boys discovered a place on the coast called Bandon Dunes. It is a golf place that is supposedly the "Celestial Kingdom" of golf courses. They also discovered that the weather on the Oregon coast is pretty much the same year round and that they get a winter discount. Because of these discoveries, they like to leave us girls behind while they go spend the day chasing a little white ball around. So while they go play, the girls and I play too!

On Saturday January 7th, we started off by sleeping in! Then we decided to take advantage of Home Depot's free kid's workshop. They made banks that look like little mini storage sheds. If you live near a Home Depot, I highly recommend checking out these workshops. They are the 1st Saturday of every month and are completely free. The kids get all the tools and such to build some fun little craft. Plus they get a cute little apron!

After building we went to lunch at the Black Bear Diner. To be honest, I wasn't very impressed. Somebody told us later that it is a great place for breakfast foods. Now we know!

Then we decided to go ice skating! It was a perfect day; not too cold! They had walkers the kids could use to help them. Care Bear started off with one but then got brave and didn't need it anymore. La-La never used one and was a bit offended when I suggested it at first. Our friends the Case family dropped their girls off to skate with us. Fun times and I am proud to say I NEVER fell!

After skating, we got a movie and some treats and snuggled on the couch. Maybe the boys should go more often?!
