Day at the beach!

I took too many fun pictures today so I did a slideshow so you can enjoy all of them!

The Beach!

We went to the sound today because we finally had a beautiful day! It was so much fun! The only thing that would have made it better was if Daddy could have come. (He will be back from Germany in just over two weeks!) When we got there the tide was out so we were able to explore all the little tide pools and see the amazing life that exists there. This video clip is of some kind of sea worm I think. It looked like a tiny clear straw but it wiggled and moved with life. It was my favorite thing about the beach. We saw tiny crabs, hermit crabs, big huge crabs, tube worms, anemones, and sea shells. La-La loved turning over rocks and watching all the little crabs scurry for cover. They remind me too much of spiders but I hide my fears so she won't be scared too. She even would pick them up and hold them! Jaco wanted to leave as soon as we got there but then he started to have fun. He didn't want to touch anything because he was afraid it was poisonous. Care Bear wasn't too sure about it all but she says she loved the bugs (crabs) the most. She wouldn't hold a real one but she showed everyone her pretend crab. We collected sea shells, got sand everywhere and had a blast doing it!

Missing Binky

Unfortunantly Miss Care Bear still does not sleep through the night and I am at a loss as to how I can get her to sleep! I am up with her atleast once a night and a lot of times it is to find her binky. Let me tell you a little about this binky. When Care Bear was 9 months old she gave up the binky all by herself but grew to love her bottle more and more. When she was 2+ I still had to make her atleast one bottle every night and it had to be warm. I noticed that she would steal the binky of a boy I baby-sit and go hide with it to suck in private. Obviously she has a need to suck so I decided to take away the bottle and replace it with a new binky so she wasn't getting unneccessary calories, her teeth wouldn't rot, and I figured it would be easier to find a lost binky than make a warm bottle. It worked because she never asked for a bottle again as long as she had her binky. So last night Care Bear went to bed with her baby who has her own binky. At one in the morning I hear the all too familiar shuffle of Care Bear's feet coming down the hallway but she still had her own binky. Instead she was crying because her baby lost HER binky! I had to go find a DOLL'S BINKY in the middle of the night!! There is seriously something wrong with that! UUGGHH!!!

CRAZY!!

Where we live typically does not get much snow if any at all and especially not towards the end of April. Well right now we are getting snowed on and overnight we are under a HEAVY SNOW WARNING! We "could" get up to seven inches of snow. WHAT??!!! We live pretty close to a lake so we probably won't get that much but it is crazy that I can look out my window right now and see beautiful spring flowers and huge wet snowflakes at the same time!

I love how you can see the snowflakes and their shadows on the girls faces!

The Ultimate Spy

Jaco's 3rd grade teacher has been great about teaching her class important skills but doing so in a fun creative way that makes it easy to forget they are "learning" and not just playing. They did a detective unit where they had to gather evidence and solve a crime involving stolen jewelry. Jaco loved this because he considers himself to be the ultimate spy/detective. If we try to hide something from him or sneak something past him he always says he will figure it out because he is the ultimate spy and no one can get past him. This is the picture his teacher took at school.

This is La-La's favorite shirt. She HAS to wear her hair in two pigtails but the best part about it was it only cost $1.50! Oh to be young and confident enough to say what you feel about yourself on your clothes!

one million plus!

10 weeks ago I started an online fitness competition to get my rear in gear so I can be a "hot" Dr's wife when hubby graduates from residency in June. The competition is called Shape Up The Nation and we have to keep track of weightloss, exercise hours and steps with a pedometer. Tonight I broke the million mark in steps!! That is approximately 500 miles I have walked/ran! With all three kids I gained more nursing than I did pregnant and with KJJ, I continued to gain even after nursing. It has been hard but I am finally starting to see results from all my hard work. GO ME!!

On my own AGAIN!

Hubby left for Germany yesterday. He will be gone for a month doing a fellowship in surgery and traumatology. He was nervous but excited. So here I am being a single mom again but atleast I don't have to work like most single moms do! He was gone for three months over the summer so one month will be easy! Jaco has a good understanding of time so he misses Daddy but he knows it will go fast. The girls want the month to be over now and can't grasp what one month means. We are going to make a paper chain so they can tear one loop off each day to count down to Daddy's homecoming. Care Bear looked all over the house for Daddy this morning and was sad when she couldn't find him. He will be back before we know it!

I Hate My Job

I don't hate my job as a mom or as a babysitter in fact I love those jobs but I really do not like delivering papers! I have a 2300 paper route I do once a week. Of those 2300 papers almost 2000 have to be folded and stuffed into plastic bags before I drive around and mindlessly throw them onto driveways all over communities in my area. The one good thing besides the fact that because of this job we have food to eat, is that it is teaching the kids how to work. If they help me fold and stuff I give them $.10 per paper. Then when we go shopping if they ask to buy something I ask them if they helped with the route and if so how much $ they earned. This has cut down on the "gimmies" at the store. Even little Care Bear has figured out how to stuff the papers. She is always so excited to help and I think it is cute but she slows me down so much! I have to fold the paper for her and then she stuffs it. Atleast she tries and I try not to get too impatient with her. But let me tell you when you have stack upon stack of papers looking at you, you just want to get them done ASAP!

A Terrible Tumble

Little Miss Care Bear took a bad fall yesterday. We were at a friends house for conference and between sessions we went outside to play. She was in the back of a truck with big sis. La-La decided to open the tailgate not realizing Care Bear was leaning against it. Out she went landing directly on her head. It scared me to death but when she quit crying as soon as she got her Na-Nee (blanket) and binky I knew she was fine. Poor La-La felt so bad. I had to console her longer than I did Care Bear. Everyone is fine today just a little banged up!

Brief History

Ok, I am taking the plunge into the online blog world! I am hoping this will be an easy way to journal my family's life and share it with family and friends! I am a SAHM mom to three kids. My husband is a Foot and Ankle Surgeon (he will graduate from his residency on June 27, 2008) We were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1998. A little over a year later Jaco our son was born on July 22, 1999. He loves to read and play video games. La-La our first daughter was born September 1, 2002. She is a sweetheart who loves anything alive from cuddly kitties to scaly snakes. Then on August 24, 2005 our second daughter was born. Care Bear is a BUSY little girl with an infectious smile and an earsplitting scream.
