Some of the things I will miss...

Although I am very excited to move back to familiar territory, there are a lot of things I will really miss about our current area! First and foremost is our church family. It made me cry when we moved here and there were so many complete strangers ready to help us move in. We even received dinners for the first few nights so we didn't have to worry about meals while we unpacked. This has been our best church family ever, even though we have been here such a short time. I will also really miss my job. I do in home care giving for the elderly. I work when the kids are in school so I can still be their mom and I get to do something I enjoy. I get payed to sit and talk with someone, do a little housework, and go shopping with them. It has been a dream job! I have been able to sing in a great community choir and it has really brought so much happiness to my life to be singing more again! I am going to miss the choir.

And finally I am going to miss the natural beauty of this area! We live out in the boonies with a large creek, hills, orchards, and the Columbia River in our backyard. I can walk less than 1 mile from my front door and feel like I am in the mountains all by myself. I love taking the kids with me and exploring the world with them.

In January we headed to the river. Even though it wasn't warm, the girls still had to take their shoes off and wade. Brrrr! Then we found some dead salmon and the kids thought they were so cool!

I love how this shot shows their different personalities!

Skipping rocks, feeling a cold smooth rock, and just having fun together!

Last Thursday May 12th was one of our first beautiful warm spring days after a long cold winter/spring! The kids and I packed a picnic and went on a hike straight from our front door!

We had so much fun even though I slipped on wet moss and got all muddy, Kara fell in the creek and got cold, and I had to remove multiple ticks from dog and human alike! Speaking of ticks, that is one thing I can't wait to leave behind! Pulling a tick out of some one's skin has become a daily occurrence!

That sounds so awesome! I am sad that you can't take the things you love with you but I am glad you are coming back! Maybe you will find some of the same things close to your new place! And the whole tick this give me the heebeejeebees! YUCK!!
