Skiing

It has been YEARS since I have been skiing. None of the kids have ever gone. We live 20 minutes from a great ski hill so skiing/boarding we went. The girls and I were smart; we have two feet so we had two boards strapped to our feet. The boys opted for one board strapped to two feet, otherwise known as a snowboard. We went night skiing on Thursday February 3rd. The girls were pretty excited until we actually had skis strapped on and standing on the top of the bunny hill knowing there was only one way down. Care Bear freaked and refused to move. La-La was much braver and headed straight down the hill. I was trying to deal with a crying Care Bear and couldn't do anything to help La-La and Justin was helping Jaco on the lift. La-La headed straight down the hill and I guess she wiped out bad. By the time Care Bear and I made it down, La-La was bawling and refusing to ever try again. Once Care Bear saw how it worked, she was hooked and loved it. Thanks to her short legs, if she got going too fast, she just sat back on her heels and used her hands to stop. La-La hurt her arm in her tumble and was ready to leave. I was able to convince her to try one more time and she hated the second run down too. By this time, Care Bear was zipping up and down the hill and having a ball. Jaco was somewhat frustrated with boarding but he stuck with it and had fun with Justin. The few times I was able to go were great. I wished I could have gone more but La-La was sad and wanted me to stay close. Justin took Care Bear again a few weeks later and she had a ball! I am sure we will go more next year and hopefully La-La will have more fun next time!

Care Bear at the top of the hill realizing it might be tricky to get down!
After going down the hill and realizing skiing is a lot of fun!

La-La excited to try skiing for the first time!
Very sad La-La. Sore arm and done with skiing forever if she gets her way! Hoping she'll try again next year.

Jaco trying to get down the hill!

Da boys!
