My Baby is 5!

Good Morning Birthday girl!

Little Miss Care Bear is officially 5! She has been so excited for this birthday! Yesterday morning I heard her whispering to La-La, "La-La! The Birthday Fairy came! That means I am 5 now!" La-La then whispered back, "Technically not 5 yet. You were born after lunch so that means you will be 5, three hours after lunch and two hours before dinner!" I told Care Bear it was her birthday so she was finally 5 but all day she asked me if she was really 5 yet. Finally at 3:40 pm I was happy to announce that she was 100% 5 years old!

I can not believe my baby is so big. She keeps me on my toes all day and all night but I wouldn't trade her in for all the money in the world. She is so excited to start kindergarten and learn to read.

Care Bear's birthday was pretty low key but she enjoyed her day. We started it by allowing her to open her gifts before Daddy went to work. She got two books, a movie, and earlier this summer we let her "open" a scooter so she had a chance to enjoy it all summer and after she broke her leg, we let her "open" a Leapster to give her something to do. Grandma and Grandpa gave her a holographic puzzle, and Littlest Pet Shop, she got $5 from Grandma Ann, and I think her favorite gift was a "debit" gift card from Granny & Papa.

This puzzle has two pictures in one with the holograph so it is extra tricky to do! Didn't hinder Care Bear, I think she put it together 10 times! She is our only kid who really likes puzzles.

While we waited for Daddy to come home from work, we did her puzzle over and over, checked out a local organic farm, watched her movie, got ice-cream and played at a park.

Showing off her amazing balancing skills with her awesome blue cast! (more to come about the broken leg in a future post!)

Favorite thing to do at the park...SWING!

Dinner was pizza, bread sticks, and salad per the Birthday Girls request. Then it was finally time for cake and ice-cream. We had bought the ice-cream the day before her birthday. Care Bear knows Daddy LOVES ice-cream and she was worried he would find it and eat it all before her big day. She suggested we hide it under her bed but La-La was wise and told her that wouldn't work because it would melt. I assured her I could hide it in the freezer and as long as no none told Daddy about it, he would not find it! Thankfully he never found it so we had plenty of ice-cream to enjoy!

Care Bear picked out a guitar cake so that is what she got!

I kind of think it looks more like a ukulele but she was happy with it because instead of frosting decorating the edges, we used skittles!

In fact, when she ate her cake, all she ate were the skittles! No surprise there because she has the biggest sweet tooth you have ever seen!

After dinner, we finished the day by playing Candy Land.

Happy Birthday to my favorite 5 year old in the whole world! I can't wait to see what she will learn in school this year! I know she will do well as long as she sits still long enough to listen to her teacher!
