Two days ago I decided to limit Care Bear's binky use to bedtime only. She would have her binky ALL DAY if I let her.

When she asked for her binky Thursday morning and I refused to give it to her she had a grand mal tantrum with true ear splitting screams that lasted for 30-45 minutes. I held strong and did not give in.

Yesterday morning she woke up around 6 like usual and I told her if she came out to watch Barney like usual then her binky would be put away but if she stayed in bed awhile longer she could keep her binky. She didn't reappear until 7 which meant more sleep for both of us!

Well today she attempted to start her day at 5:45 so I told her again that if she stayed in bed she would get to keep her binky but if she chose to come out it would be put away. She stayed in bed again until 7!! Whoo-Hoo!!! I am keeping her binkies in a container that twists open and she can't get it open! These pictures are of her trying everything she can to open her beloved binkies. Don't worry, I took away the knife and hid the binkies.

Wahoo to more sleep! We cut the tip off of Aida's Binky and she doesn't really use it anymore.
Gotta love more sleep! She is sooo headstrong! What would we do w/o our binkies?
I love it.....Grand Mal tantrum!! Ed hid Leah's one night and patiently looked all over the house with her for it...she just calmly said "It's lost" and Went to bed!!! I could not believe it was that easy - with all the "Grand Mal" tantrums she had been throwing!
Are you still alive? Or just blah week?
Hey Punky!
Way cute blog! It's fun seeing all the cousins - Rachel loves to look at all the blogs. I understand the binki pain, I'm trying to get Logan off bottles - I guess I can't say "trying" because I haven't done anything yet, but everyday I wake up and say, I need to ween him off, but do I do anything? NO! I'm too freakin' scared of the no sleep thing! It sure is much harder on the moms than the kid
Okay, I had no idea who mom2jjk was! Sorry I didn't know it was you that commented on my blog! I actually thought it was my mother-in-law at first.
I swore no kid was more attached to his/her binkie than Reagan. When Geoff's sister came to visit when Reagan was 1 1/2..she told me it HAD to go! (she doesn't have any kids...easy for her to say!) We cut the tips off of them...of course she just worked them over in their "tipless" state...the next night we just took it away. She honestly didn't ask for it again after two days. I was soooooooo dumbfounded! Clean break clean break!:) unfortunately, Greyson won't take one! We tried everything!
Where are you guys moving next and stuff??
Hey Punky, after talking to you on the phone the other day, I got to realizing that I wouldn't see you, and I got sad.:( I think I still envision all of my family being around when I visit. I wish that I could see you this trip and that you could meet Ariah! If only your husband was already making the big bucks, and you could just run away and fly home also! I miss you, and I'm sorry if I excluded you from my sonnet!:( I do love you, I just needed to rhyme! :)
I love the last picture of KJJ trying to open the container with the knife!! So focused in the task at hand!
